Use Sabine's Six-step Method any time you're feeling:
If you're upset, you'll find in your self-talk three bits of illogical thinking. Two of them you've met before- the pressure should and a special self-label that hurts so much I call it a 'button self-label'. The third is a wicked little because that links the pressure should and the button self-label. Your unwanted, negative feelings are caused by the should, because and label.
To conquer your unwanted feelings you simply write down the
illogical sentence (should, because and label) and then you write
the same sentence made logicaL
The result? Pressure and hurt are gone. The whole picture comes
together and you take an unemotional look at it, You see things
in better perspective and you feel better-no longer hurt or guilty,
tense or upset! You understand the whole situation, feel calm
and relaxed - and in control. You've shaken off the emotions that
blocked your seeing the overall picture and you straight away
know what's best to do.
As with anything new, you might be thinking 'This is too complicated'.
Many group members and clients think that at first. But it's like
learning to play Snakes and Ladders-once you learn the rules and
do it a few times it's an easy game to play.

magic', 'The negative feelings are gone- I feel understanding
